ANURANAN- A FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME(Phase I) on Servant Leadership & Project Management.

ANURANAN, THE FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME(Phase I) was organized by Camellia Institute of Technology on 1st & 2nd December,2014. The theme of the programme was of Servant Leadership and Project Management.

The main objectives of the programme were:

  • To support faculty members in their efforts to enhance competence in their teaching fields by keeping abreast of developments in their own disciplines and allied.
  • To support research projects those contribute to the faculty members’ professional development and/or provide learning opportunities for students, consistent with the college’s mission as a teaching institution.
  • To keep faculty informed and to foster active discussion of developments in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
  • To encourage thoughtful and effective integration of educational technology in the teaching and learning process.
  • To support the efforts of individual faculty members to enhance their teaching and learning effectiveness.
  • To develop innovation in teaching & learning process.
  • To assist new faculties in developing productivity in classroom lectures and hone their skills for a brighter career at CAMELLIA.
  • Commitment towards Self-development and devotion towards the institute.
  • Educating young faculties on forthcoming Project Management.

The programme started with an inaugural song with ‘Diya Prajjalan’ and welcome speeches by the Directors of  CIT, CSET and BITM.

CAMPUSeCONNECT Coding and Testing Camp : An Initiative by InSync & Camellia Institute of Technology.

A coding and testing competition was held at Camellia Institute of Technology, Madhyamgram on 14th November 2014. This was organized jointly by Camellia Group and a renowned IT product company from Kolkata – InSync Solutions, under its initiative called CAMPUSeCONNECT. With this initiative, InSync’s objective is to bridge the gap between the IT industry and the academy sector.

Atul Gupta (Founder and CEO, InSync) and Devendra Pratap Singh (COO, InSync) strongly believe that there is a need for interaction between the institutes and the industry. With CAMPUSeCONNECT, they plan to engage students in various ways and build a sustainable partnership with education institutes to mutual benefit by producing “industry ready” recruits.

The coding and testing camp was a first-of-its-kind campus-drive which was held in Camellia. It was of 3 levels with increasing difficulty. Each level was an elimination Round.

There were two type of participants:

  • Coding Participants
  • Testing Participants

Students from all the institutes under Camellia Group participated in this event.

There were over 190 registration for the competition. 6 from coding and 15 from testing crossed Level 1 and reached Level 2. There was a tough competition in Level 2 and 3 and the participants who cleared Level 3 got on-spot job offers from InSync.

Apart from that, there were goodies and Tshirts for the participants and cash prizes and trophies for the winners.

SPARK – Industry Institute Interaction

Camellia Institute of Technology organized an 3-day Industry Institute Interaction camp from 6th – 8th November, 2014. Eminent speakers from Industry & Academia shared their experience with the Student & Faculty members of Camellia Group Institutions.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan 2014 – Cleanliness Week at Camellia Institute of Technology.

Camellia Institute of Technology celebrated Swachh Bharat Abhiyan week from  27th to 31st October ,2014.

On the first day, Mr. J. K. Roy, Advisor to Management, Electrosteel Castings Ltd. inaugurated the occasion. All faculties, staffs and students took part in the occasion by joining hands in cleaning the campus.

On the second day, everybody went to the nearby village cleaned the roads and drains and explained the village people about the necessity of keeping the environment clean.

Industry Conclave – Employability Skills

Camellia Institute of Technology(CIT) organized Industry Conclave on 20-Oct-2104. The theme of the conclave was Employability Skills. The event was jointly organized by IIPC, Camellia Institute of Technology(CIT) with Project Management Institute(PMI).

The participants were students from Camellia Group Institutions.

Teachers’ Day Celebration

Teachers’ Day has been Celebrated, paying homage to Dr. Sarvapally Radhakrishnan. Students also arranged small program to show honor to their teachers. The Presence of Swami Puramathanananda, Col. Prabir Sengupta and other dignitaries, took this program to a greater height. The new decorated Library building was inaugurated on that day.

Institute runs an Entrepreneurship Cell—PRAYAS. Students are encouraged in Entrepreneurial activities. Some student members have started 1st campus company “SAHAY”.

Motivating Speech.He inaugurated the first issue of “Urja” and Second Campus Companyuder PRAYAS – the Entrepreneurship Cell of the college, “Sip N Eat” and New Library Building.
